Checking that the seller really owns the home
Ask for the ownership certificate or a register extract and compare it with the person and the address.
- Ask for the ownership certificate from the Cadastre Committee or an extract from the property register (e-cadastre.am).
- Compare the owner’s name with the ID of the person you meet, and the address with the property.
- If someone acts for the owner, ask for the power of attorney.
- For a purchase, check the property for mortgages and other encumbrances and sign the deal at a notary.
Listings with the Ownership checked badge have passed a document check by our moderators: the address and the owner matched the listing.
