Never pay before you’ve seen the home

The most common scam is a request for money to “reserve” a home you haven’t seen.

The most common scam goes like this: an attractive home at a low price, a “landlord” or “owner” who is abroad or very busy, and a request to send a deposit, a booking fee or money for the keys before you see the place.

If you have already paid a scammer, contact the police and report the listing.
